Welcome to IconicSX, a small but truly exceptional and ethical cattery nestled in the picturesque Northeast of Scotland. We specialise in breeding very rare Sphynx cats with Blue Eyes (DBE) and Odd Eyes Sphynx Cats, with a deep commitment to their health, welfare, and happiness.
At IconicSX, every cat is raised in an environment that prioritises their needs, ensuring they receive all the love, attention, and respect they deserve. Our foundation is built on ethics, health, and dedication, creating a truly unique and healthy line of Sphynx cats.
Health and Genetic Integrity
At IconicSX, health and genetic integrity are our top priorities. We are dedicated to responsible breeding practices, conducting comprehensive DNA testing to screen for over 70 inheritable disorders. This ensures our cats are free from genetic diseases and do not carry mutations that could impact future generations.
Our breeding program goes beyond DNA testing to include:
• Annual HCM scans performed by certified cardiologists
• BAER hearing tests
• Testing for FeLV, FIV, Toxoplasmosis, Coronavirus, and other conditions
We are proud to be home to the world’s first recognised and genetically confirmed DBE Celestial Sphynx line. The DBE-CEL gene, previously referred to as the DBE-Altai gene, was identified in 2024 by Prof. Marie Abitbol. It was subsequently distinguished from the DBE-ALT gene umbrella as a separate entity.
The DBE-CEL gene is an autosomal dominant trait with variable expression and incomplete penetrance. Our DBE breeding queen is genetically confirmed as heterozygous N/DBECEL, representing one of the safest Dominant Blue Eye (DBE) genes recognised today. This line is the best studied DBE Line and is well known for its genetic health, making it the cornerstone of our breeding program.
Research confirms that DBE-CEL cats are not linked with deafness and do not exhibit dystopia canthorum, a hallmark feature of Waardenburg Syndrome Types 1 and 3:
“Dystopia canthorum was not observed in adult DBE cats from Altai, Celestial, British, Sphynx, and Siberian genetic backgrounds… The variant (DBECEL) was found in the Celestial breed, and the variant has not been associated with deafness.”

Statistically, only 50% of kittens born from a DBE parent inherit the DBE gene, making our DBE Celestial line exceptionally rare. Each of our DBE kittens leaves our cattery with a DNA Certificate confirming their DBE gene status, ensuring 100% transparency.
We carefully select mates to promote genetic diversity and prevent inbreeding. Our breeding cats receive regular veterinary care, tailored health plans, breeding insurance, proper nutrition, and live in a clean, loving environment.

A Nurturing Environment
Situated in peaceful and picturesque countryside, our cattery is offering the ideal ambient environment for our Sphynx cats to thrive. A very caring environment with lots of attention, socialisation, and stimulation assures that our cats grow into well-adjusted, affectionate companions. We are concerned about sustainability and take an eco-friendly approach, reducing our ecological footprint by using only eco-friendly products and maintaining sustainable operations.
Socialisation and Enrichment
At IconicSX, we raise our kittens in a loving and stimulating environment. We care for them day in and night out so that each cat will experience good attention and affection. Our emphasis on socialisation prepares the kitten for a lifetime of being loving companions for your family. We have excellent communication with prospective owners, sharing lineage information, health records, and genetic testing to help guide your decision process.
IconicSX Nursery
In our nursery, we surround kittens with sensory toys, cozy mats, and their very first scratching posts, which are very important in their development. We design the nursery to encourage exploration—to let kittens satisfy their curiosity while furthering their physical and cognitive abilities. Our state-of-the-art heated flooring keeps the nursery at a cozy temperature of 29 degrees Celsius or 84 degrees Fahrenheit, for the comfort and security of our kittens.
The humidity is appropriate to maintain their sensitive skin moist at all times for general good health and comfort. The thoughtful design will keep our kittens growing happy and healthy, ready for their new homes.
Our Cats
At IconicSX, every kitten is GCCF and TICA registered and comes with extensive documentation, including the parents’ full genetic, health testing results, and sale agreement. Our kittens are health-checked, microchipped, litter-trained, fully vaccinated, and dewormed. Additionally, each kitten comes with a comprehensive warranty covering HCM and genetic defects, five weeks of free insurance to ensure you welcome a healthy, well-cared-for companion. Our kittens are also neutered, trained to use scratching posts, and even introduced to running on exercise wheels!
